Direct cremation is a private cremation that takes place without a viewing, visitation, or funeral service beforehand. It's the most affordable option because it doesn't include the costs associated with those events. You're still welcome to hold a memorial separately, on your own time and terms.
How much does direct cremation cost?

Do I need to come to your facility to arrange a cremation?
No. Most arrangements can be handled entirely by phone and online. If you'd prefer to meet in person, we're glad to have you visit our Spring Branch office.
How long does the cremation process take?
Most cremations are completed within 3 to 5 business days.
Can I still hold a memorial or gathering if I choose direct cremation?
Yes. Choosing direct cremation is about the disposition of your loved one, not about whether you can gather to remember them. Many families hold a memorial at a church, a family home, or another meaningful location, on whatever timeline works for them.
Is embalming required?
No, embalming is not required for direct cremation, since there's no public viewing involved. It's typically only needed if a family requests a viewing or if the body needs to be transported across state lines.
What happens to my loved one's ashes after the cremation?
We return the cremated remains to you by hand delivery or registered mail, along with a certified copy of the death certificate. From there, many families choose to keep the urn at home, scatter the ashes somewhere meaningful, or inter them in a columbarium or family plot.
Do you offer payment plans?

What if my loved one passed away outside my area?
We proudly serve families throughout Comal, Bexar, Blanco, Hays, Kendall, Guadalupe, and Gillespie counties. If you're unsure whether you're in our service area, just give us a call, we're happy to help.
Can family be present for the cremation?
Witnessed cremation is available in certain packages. Contact us to discuss options that best suit your family's wishes.
Do I have to have a funeral or memorial service?
No, services aren't required by law. Some families still choose a small gathering for comfort and closure, but there's no obligation either way.
Can I personalize the arrangements even with direct cremation?
